Iran, Tehran – The 11th Annual Conference on Modern Banking and Payment Systems, focusing on “Smart Banking Ecosystem; Digital Governance and Technological Supervision”, was held on December 25 and 26 at the Milad Tower International Conference Center, organized by the Monetary and Banking Research Institute and supported by the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The specialized session “Generative Artificial Intelligence in the Banking Industry” was held with the participation of Yekta Ashrafi, Deputy Director of Management and Resources Development of the Central Bank, Farshad Heidari, President of the Higher Institute of Banking Education of Iran, Hadi Farahani, faculty member of Shahid Beheshti University, Shohreh Tabatabaei, Director of Artificial Intelligence of Informatics Services Company, and Mohammad Mazaheri, CEO of TOSAN TECHNO, as experts in the field of artificial intelligence. At the meeting, the CEO of TOSAN TECHNO spoke about the opportunities for making banks and banking services smarter, adding: “The reasoning power of AI in the areas of credit assessment, customer experience personalization, and compliance will come to the aid of banking.”

“AI should be helpful, honest, and harmless. The question before us is whether we should develop Iranian LLM or not? We use LLM from Meta or Chinese companies in our company. When we want AI to be used in the banking industry, it should be trained based on the data of this industry.” The CEO of TOSAN TECHNO continued, “I think the question that needs to be answered is whether this process will be given a chance? Currently, some banks have invested in AI research laboratories and some in AI applications.”

During the presentation of the product “Android in the service of in-person payment, from application to device management”, which was held by Mr. Mehdi Mazaheri, Head of Electronic Research and Development, Pouria Motazedi, Head of Engineering Technology, and Alireza Hooshmand, Senior Business Development Expert and TECHSTORE Project Manager of TOSAN TECHNO, the capacities and opportunities that the Android operating system provides to developers of electronic payment terminal software and store acceptors were mentioned.

In the presentation of the product “Smart Contact Center”, which was held by Mahmoud Aghapour, Chief Executive Officer of Artin Business, and Mojtaba Doroudian, Manager of TOSAN TECHNO’s Service Desk, the benefits of smartening customer contact centers were mentioned, and the experience of POINT’s business as a result of using this solution was examined.

The closing ceremony of the Modern Banking and Payment Systems Conference was held this year with the support of TOSAN TECHNO, and the winners of the Dr. Nourbakhsh Festival were also introduced at this ceremony. In this festival, where innovative designs and products of banking and electronic payment industry activists are selected, TOSAN TECHNO Company was able to win first place in the festival in the “Banking and Smart Innovation” axis for its “TECHSTORE Electronic Payment Terminal Management System” solution.

This conference was held while this year, through a joint collaboration between the Monetary and Banking Research Institute and the ARTIN Artificial Intelligence Business of TOSAN TECHNO Company, the audio of 9 specialized sessions, 11 workshops, 7 lectures, and 15 paper presentations of this conference was simultaneously converted to text with high accuracy and analyzed by the ARTIN Artificial Intelligence platform.
